I joined Knauf as an HR Apprentice. The role was exactly what I what I had hoped for as it gave me an opportunity to be exposed to every area of HR rather than specializing too early on without the necessary experience. As soon as I walked in for my interview, I knew that Knauf was somewhere I would want to start my career. The reception I received was so welcoming and warm, so I immediately felt relaxed and comfortable throughout the interview process. My role involves supporting the HR team on a day-to-day basis and in their overall goals as a team. I manage the HR systems, support the onboarding and offboarding process of employees and everything in between. From delivering HR inductions to new starters to holding leaver chats for those exiting the business. I’m currently gaining a lot of experience in the world of employee relations. I like that no day is ever the same! Although I like consistency, having something new to tackle makes my job exciting. I’m constantly learning something new which is very rewarding. Knauf feels like family – we’re really looked after.

I have been working for Knauf for over 6 years now and throughout my time here I have been given challenging tasks that give me the opportunity to show my skills. I have always worked in HR and I have been able to work on different areas such as Recruitment and Onboarding, HRIS, Global Mobility, L&D, Employee Engagement and regional projects. Throughout all of these different career paths I stayed with Knauf because of the ability to work on different regional projects with friendly colleagues from all around the globe. My manager gives me many opportunities to grow in different aspects of HR helping me shape into a better person.
